Nice to hear a new song with O'Connell.
This one is a good example of a "novelty" song, a bit humoristic but in regard of "double-entendre", ouch! So many songs like that then :-)
It IS better than the big words we hear today. Nothing inventive in that...

I played this a long time ago, and it is the most requested song. I've probably sent it out six or seven times. It does harken back to a far earlier time.

I believe it was a better time. I am no prude, but some double entendre leaves some mytery to things. To think Ruth Wallace records were once considered a behind-the-counter commodity.

I agree that's what is acceptable is a bit out of hand, and I am certainly no prude either. Some lyrics are just too offensive.

Thanks for sending me your way and thanks for giving me Matt Monro as I'd never heard him before this. I loved all your choices except I'm just not a Manilow fan. Frank would have had my vote for number 1 too.

My mother got me to love the crooners.
