I can't begin to celebrate the music of Rosalie. She just turned seventy-five and is still recording. I suggest you drop over to her site and start reading.

Rosalie has since recorded another album, released last week, called Strangers in Another Country. It celebrates the music of Utah Phillips, a life long friend of Rosalie's. I've already ordered my copy.

Wow, thanks for the tip on this one, I just downloaded a few songs from iTunes. I'd forgotten she was on the Nod to Bob CD, so I guess I can't say I hadn't heard her before, but between Gorka and Gilkyson I don't often get all the way through that one, keep hitting replay. There's some moments when her voice reminds me of Emmylou, particularly her (ELH's) earlier albums when her voice was more...I want to say "incarnate."
You're welcome, Deborah
I first heard her sing on a Smithsonian Folkways compilation, and I then ordered my first album of hers. She is one of my folk singing heroes.
One of the most beautiful songs I know. Always gives me a tear.
Quar,
It is beautiful and so sad.
I followed the link to your site and was thrilled to download the Moroccan music. It's great!
