Nice tune ... hadn't heard this one before, so it's a new treat ... in another time, this coulda been incorporated into the 1930s film 'Green Pastures' ... same gospel chorus 'feel' to it ...
I find you last two posts really interesting since on my Wednesday Coffeehouse post a couple of weeks ago I featured Judy Collins and Arlo Guthrie together. I thought that a really unique combination until I clicked over here.
BTW, thanks for the music through the years. I really can’t express how much clicking to your blog revives my spirits.
Arlo always keeps it simple musically and deeper lyrically. That's the best kind of music, and an art generally lost. Nice post, Kat! They don't write'em like this anymore.

Richard,
I know exactly what you mean by this song having a gospel feel. It's that last train to glory line which helps push it in that direction.

Nick,
Obviously we are both people of remarkable good taste. I usually check out your Wednesday so maybe I filed it away!
I'm so glad you're enjoying Coffee.

Dan,
I like listening to Arlo, always have. I agree about the simplicity of his music.
