I must be the only human being in teh world (outside the members of Chicago) who own the first 26! albums. Why? I dont know. By the way they released their 32nd the other week
Chicago's main songwriter, Robert Lamm, wrote this after a particularly exhilarating 4th of July spent in New York's Central Park, where there were steel drum players, singers, dancers and jugglers.
This was originally used as a soundtrack to an unreleased home movie. It became the group's first gold single.
In the Adam Sandler film Little Nicky, this song was used for comedic effect when it was played backwards to show that it contained satanic messages.
sblake, I think I have three or four, but with some favorites I too have all they recorded. What an amazing number of albums Chicago has recorded. The long lives of some of these bands is mind boggling.
Count me in, I'm a fan, too. And also having been an art history major, I always picture the park in that pretty Georges Seurat painting, "A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of the Grand Jatte" (which spun-off the 1984 musical "Sunday in the Park with George"). I know, I know, different park, different day, and I'm not sure the musical launched any deathless hits...I'm just sayin'

Of course Chicago! We played "color my world" as we walked down the aisle 37 years ago.
Unusual even then.
Love Chicago
And where is Kat's Cat ? I would have certainly expected "Another Saturday Night" by Cat Stevens.
By step brother also marched down the aisle to Color my World...30+ years ago in Rogers City Michigan.

Mim,
I love them too, and I never think to play them. It is wonderful you chose them to walk down to aisle to!
My Dear Hedley,
I do have that song but just didn't play it though you know he is a favorite.
I wouldn't have guessed that Chicago had its day down the aisles.

You just can't help singing along to this one. Any nice summer day, even if it's not the 4th of July, is a good day to sing this one. Thanks!

So maybe tomorrow we get "Another Park, Another Sunday" by The Doobie Brothers?!?
s
Deb,
It can be any park anywhere. What you imagine is what it can be.
Dan,
I know the 4th of July was there but I wanted it any way!
Scott,
I'll see what I can do!
