The Highwaymen made only a few records between 1961 and 1964 when they folded. This, one of my favorites of theirs, came off Standing Room Only released in 1961.
I had a good friend in high school who was always singing this song. I regret he's fallen off the face of the earth and nobody's seen him since. Yet another memory jolt. You hit my jackpot today!
Greetings, Just so you know...The Highwaymen are still working. They have never folded. Even though they now have "Day" jobs---they still keep a fairly busy schedule. And, they sound better now, then they did back in the 60's!
I think the Highwaymen were one of the most under=rated groups of the time. I'm delighted to hear they are still at it and will now google furiously looking for a schedule.

Yes, I'd forgotten this one, still eminently singable after all these years...
Ralph,
Music is so wonderful for jogging our memories. I can zoom into a single moment with some songs. Amazing.
Deborah,
I listened to several of their songs today. I still think they are far better than they were given credit for being.

TalentAgent,
Thanks for telling me this. I didn't realize they were still singing. I'll have to hunt down their schedule-see if they hit these parts.

David,
I have said the same thing each time I post their music. I too am moving my fingers hunting for a schedule.
